Hell of the North is a bistro and wine bar in the heart of Melbourne's cultural capital, Fitzroy. Hell's focus towards casual dining is derived from fresh local produce as well as a hand-crafted selection of boutique beer, wine and cocktails to tantalise the fire within.
The Hell of the North shares its name with the infamous Paris-Roubaix bike race held once a year on Easter Sunday in northern France near the Belgian frontier. Famous for rough terrain, hardship and cobblestones it is one of the 'Monuments' or Classics of the European calendar. Unlike the race, Hell of the North bar and bistro in Fitzroy seeks to marry heaven and hell with a Euro-bistro grazing menu derived from local produce and fresh ingredients, as well as a selection of boutique beers, wine and cocktails for you to enjoy.
Hell of the North offers casual dining and drinking coupled with service that is informed and friendly. We are open from Wednesday to Sunday from 5pm for dinner and for lunch on Saturday & Sunday from noon until 3pm. We also offer a supper menu from 10pm ~1am on Friday & Saturday nights and between lunch & dinner on Saturday & Sunday. Group bookings are accepted and reservations are strongly recommended. We look forward to seeing you soon.
