"Loved Hell of the North. Best meal I've had in a while. Food, wine, service, cleanliness, decor and just overall experience - all excellent. Will definitely be coming back here!"

"The road to hell may be paved with good intentions but, in the North, this bluestone path is populated with some very decent food and wine".

Edgy, warm, wood stitched interior, with a clean, modern, industrial sharpness opens up for a cosy feel with exceptional staff at your service. Ask all the questions as they know the menu inside out. I didn't ask, but I later found out Hell of the North is the name for the Paris-Roubaix bike race held in northern France which has the reputation of being torturous.

"Behind the most luminously promising front door in Melbourne (what’s not to love about shiny knockers and a buttercup yellow paint job?) lies late night supper and an embellished list of booze that adds cocktails and more than one house wine to the menu."

"A must, my favourite restaurant right now. Fantastic fresh food, interesting wines and great vibe".

This has to be one of my favourite restaurants of the north side. Actually make that of Melbourne. The perfect atmosphere inside and great service. We got a few dishes to share including the gnocchi, faro salad and terrine. We couldn't fault anything. And the salted caramel dessert blew our mind. This is definitely on the list to go back to.

"The drinks list is dominated by French wines at approachable prices, with Euro-style Australian examples bringing up the rear. Like the good-value food, the wine list bursts with savvy enthusiasm and I foresee plenty more adventures behind that jaunty yellow door".

"We returned to Hell of the North, and were delighted to find its high standard for warmth and friendliness had not diminished. The interesting and varied menu, combined with an excellent wine list, made for a perfect meal".
